On the occasion, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood presented books to 25 educational and training institutions in various regions, including some remote districts of the country.

The embassy said that India has gifted 282 ambulances to various organizations since 1994.

"This has helped in bringing healthcare services at the doorsteps of thousands of people who do not have access to healthcare services especially in remote areas, by connecting them with the nearest district hospitals/health centers," the embassy said.

India has been donating ambulances and school buses as a part of the larger India-Nepal economic cooperation program.
