ITAHARI, Sept 8: The District Administration Office, Sunsari, has imposed an indefinite curfew in Itahari following an escalation of Gen Z protests.
Chief District Officer Dharmendra Prasad Mishra announced that the curfew covers four key zones of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City. According to the order, the curfew boundaries are Nepali Army Barracks in Halghada to Paruhang Chowk in the north, Milan Chowk to Bikash Chowk in the east, the Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) through the Transportation Office and Sathi Petrol Pump to the Bus Park in the south and Kalanki Mode to Janata Basti in the west.

The demonstrators have set ablaze the office of Itahari Mayor Hem Karna Paudel. CDO Mishra said the curfew was necessary after protesters attempted to enter the sub-metropolitan office and started vandalism, escalating the situation beyond control.
