IN PICTURES: Vitamin A capsules, deworming tablets being administered to children

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Health assistants have administered vitamin 'A' capsules and deworming tablets to children under five years of age.

Vitamin A capsules are being given to children aged six months to 59 months through the Vitamin A program. Similarly, children between one and five years of age are being given deworming tablets.

The Family Welfare Division under the Department of Health Services had announced that vitamin A capsules and de-worming tablets would be distributed on October 19 and October 20.

The government has been running the Vitamin A program since 2050 BS to reduce the risk of health complications and malnutrition in children from six months to 59 months. Similarly, the deworming tablets have been distributed since 2056 BS.
