KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The closed session of the eighth National General Convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) has begun in Kathmandu.
More than 1,600 delegates and observers are participating in the convention being held at Nepal Academy Hall in Kamaladi. Representatives from seven provinces and three geographical regions are participating in the convention.
The Maoist Center, which had initially announced plans to organize a national conference, later turned it into a general convention on Saturday.
