Army Day marked with fanfare in capital (with photos and video)

KATHMANDU, March 11: A special function was held at Sainik Manch, Tudikhel in the capital on Thursday to mark the Army Day.

KATHMANDU, March 11: A special function was held at Sainik Manch, Tudikhel in the capital on Thursday to mark the Army Day. 



President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR and Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota among others joined the function organized by Nepal Army coinciding with Maha Shivaratri festival.

NA has been celebrating the Maha Shivaratri Day as the Army Day for the past few decades.



On the occasion, the army men performed various acts ranging from march-past to free-fall jumps to cultural performances to Khukuri drill. 


 



The NA personnel also demonstrated their activities relating to road construction projects, management of national parks and wildlife conservations, disaster management and international peacekeeping.
