KATHMANDU, May 1: Chairperson of the Federal Socialist Forum, Upendra Yadav has strongly criticized the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Maoist Center) for registering the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice Sushila Karki.
Issuing a press statement on Monday, Yadav has termed the act of the two major parties of the ruling alliance as the direct interference of the executive body on the independence judiciary citing that this would terminate the norms and values of the democratic republic system of the country.
Stating that the decision of the NC and Maoist Center is the planned attack on the supremacy of the constitution and the democratic practice of the good governance, Yadav stated that the impeachment motion lodged against CJ Karki is the consequence of the self and party oriented perception of the parties that would lead the misuse of the state power and will interfere the activities of the independent judiciary.
Asserting that the influence in the independence of judiciary is undemocratic act and character, Forum chair Yadav urged the concerned bodies to withdraw the impeachment motion at earliest which will enhance the supremacy of the judiciary.
