IMF projects 4.1 percent economic growth rate for Nepal in current FY

KATHMANDU, April 26: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Nepal’s economic growth rate will remain at 4.1 percent in the current fiscal year 2021/22.

KATHMANDU, April 26: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Nepal’s economic growth rate will remain at 4.1 percent in the current fiscal year 2021/22.


Unveiling a report entitled ‘World Economic Outlook’, the international financial institution has estimated the figure for Nepal’s growth rate, which is higher than 3.9 percent projected by the World Bank. According to the IMF, the Nepali economy is estimated to grow by 6.1 percent in the next fiscal year.

The projected growth rates forwarded by the international organizations are far below the forecast of the government. The government has targeted to achieve a GDP growth rate of seven percent in the current fiscal year.
