With the win, Image avenged the defeat against NTV in the final of the last edition and bagged Rs 50,000 along with the trophy. Runner-up NTV received Rs 25,000.
Sambandha Pradhan and Madhav Bhandari scored two goals each for Image while Pujan Shrestha and Sunil Tamrakar added a goal each to inflict a humiliating defeat on NTV.[break]
Pradhan was adjudged the best player of the tournament while Shrestha received the highest scorer award. Sanjib Shilpakar of NTV won the best goalkeeper award while Radio Nepal got the fair-play award. Organizer Nepal Olympic Museum awarded all four with Rs 5,000 each.
Earlier, Nepal National and International Players Association (NNIPA) and Everest Summiteers played a friendly exhibition match before the final of Media Cup. NNIPA won the match 7-1 as Sunil Lama, Deepak Shrestha, Deepak Bista scored two goals each and Mondaykaji Shrestha added one. Prakash Dahal scored a consolation goal for Everest Summiteers.
Senior sports journalist Shyam Chitrakar and Gorkhapatra, which had organized the first edition of Media Cup, were felicitated during the closing ceremony of the tournament.
