The 79th general assembly of Interpol will discuss challenges of fighting crime in the 21st century, identification of crimes and criminals, project Infra-Red [international fugitives round-up and arrest], visa arrangements for Interpol staff for effective international travel in course of carrying out their works, the international dimensions of the fight against terrorism and Interpol action against environmental crime, among other topics, according to a press release issued by the Police Newsroom.
Similarly, the general assembly will take up issues of expanding partner organizations for the Interpol services in the fight against serious and organised crimes, new challenges encountered in the action against international drug trafficking, action against human trafficking, the report of the Working Group on international promotion of Red Corner notice and genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity and Interpol policy.
IGP Thakuri is taking part in the general assembly as the Chief of the National Country Bureau of Interpol member country.
