ICIMOD is also exploring options for bigger eco-friendly low-emission vehicles. Besides, ICIMOD is also recycling waste-water generated in the headquarters for garden irrigation.

For this, ICIMOD has installed a ´constructed wetland´ waste water treatment plant in an area of about 54 square meters.

Another eco-friendly initiative within the premises is the installation of a 10 cubic meter biogas plant to recycle vegetation and waste food from the canteen to produce biogas for cooking.

ICIMOD is currently in the process of making its complex a poly bag-free zone.
