POKHARA, Oct 9: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Friday said he will quit from the post only after promulgating the new constitution.

“The current government will continue until next general election," Nepal said. “Since the government is backed by 22 parties, it won´t topple unless there is a new constitution,” he added. He reiterated he will not resign under Maoist pressure.

Admitting that the constitution writing process has been delayed, he said, “There is still possibility of promulgating the constitution on time if consensus is reached among the parties soon.”
