Election fervor was tough: Dahal

CHITWAN, Dec 14: Post-election, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) shared how competitive the election of Provincial and House of Representatives election had been. The elections, conducted in two phases, were held on November 26 and December 7.

CHITWAN, Dec 14: Post-election, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) shared how competitive the election of Provincial and House of Representatives election had been. The elections, conducted in two phases, were held on November 26 and December 7. 


Speaking at a program organized by Federation of Nepal Journalist, Chitwan Chapter, Dahal opined that competing from Chitwan, his hometown for the House of Representatives, was tough.


Dahal shared that the first election that he took part in was from Rolpa following the Comprehensive Peace Accord. "I did not participate in the election campaigns before."

While Dahal had anticipated easy win this time as well, as he had done in both the Constituent Assembly elections, Bikram Pandey of Rastriya Prajatantra Party had given a tough fight.  


However, Pandey lost by 9,427 votes at Chitwan-3. 


With a win secured, Dahal promised to fulfil the commitments he made during the election campaign. "I will fulfill the promises that I've made to ensure Chitwan's development."
