I didn't mean to disrupt Mechi-Mahakali campaign: DPM Nidhi

KATHMANDU, March 3: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi clarified that he did not make any statements to disrupt mass meetings of any political parties.

At a meeting  with CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli at the latter’s residence on Thursday night, DPM Nidhi made it clear that he       did not make any statements intending to disrupt the political   activities of any parties at a program organized in Lahan on February 26.

Issuing a press statement on last Tuesday, CPN-UML had accused Nidhi of making statements to disrupt the UML’s Mechi-Mahakali campaign.

“Our party cadres have said that you made such statements to disrupt CPN-UML’s Mechi-Mahakali campaign,” said Oli during the meeting. “But I don’t believe that you made such statements.”

In the meeting with Oli, Nidhi objected to the term ‘anti-nationalist’ used by the CPN-UML in the constitution amendment proposal.

Meanwhile, Nidhi also said that he has alrrady directed security agencies to make security arrangements for UML’s Mechi-Mahakali campaign.
