The Rautes who were being displaced for lack of safe housing, are now happy after the construction of the comfortable houses by the government.
The settlements are now joyous with the start of the construction, said Mukhiya (chief) Man Bahadur Raute. “We are elated, sir, when the government started construction of houses in our settlements, and are rejoicing”. “So far we suffered, but now we can live comfortably”, said Man Bahadur.
There are 70 Raute families in the inner Terai of Dadeldhura.
We were living troublesome life so far, said a volunteer of the Raute settlement, Shanti Raute. We are thankful as houses and toilets are being made for us now’, she said.
The Raute settlements also lacks other infrastructure, as they are in remote area geographically and in development point of view.
