KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Impeachment Recommendation Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) has started recording the statement of suspended Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana at the federal parliament secretariat for the second consecutive day on Thursday.
Rana was suspended from the post of Chief Justice following the registration of an impeachment motion against him at the HoR. Rana has been accused of seeking his share in the government through ‘give and take’ with the political parties to meet his personal ambitions.

Rana’s statement started at the meeting of the Impeachment Recommendation Committee. The committee recorded his statement on Wednesday as well.
On Wednesday, while responding to the allegations leveled against him, Rana also made various allegations against other justices of the Supreme Court and leaders of the political parties. He mentioned that he had agreed to be present before the Impeachment Recommendation Committee to record his statement only to respect parliament.
