House approves four ordinances amid UML's obstruction

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Four ordinances were approved by the members of parliament (MPs) amid obstruction from the main opposition party CPN (UML) on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Four ordinances were approved by the members of parliament (MPs) amid obstruction from the main opposition party CPN (UML) on Wednesday.


Amidst the UML's obstruction in the House of Representatives meeting, Nepal Police and Provincial Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination) (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2078, Acid and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Ordinance, 2078, Social Security (First Amendment) ordinance, 2078 and Railway Ordinance, 2078 BS were presented and approved by majority.

On behalf of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki presented the first three ordinances for decision while Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Kumari Yadav presented the Railway Ordinance, 2078 BS for a decision. MP Prem Suwal filed a notice against the proposals.
