HoR meeting postponed until 1 pm on Thursday
Opposition parties have been protesting in Parliament, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over the visit visa scandal. Due to their protests, no other agenda besides the budget speech has been able to move forward.
To resolve the deadlock, Speaker Devraj Ghimire has been actively engaging with both opposition and ruling party chief whips since early this morning. The Speaker’s Secretariat stated that the discussions have been progressing positively and that an environment for conducting the meeting is gradually being created.
