HoR meeting being held today

KATHMANDU, March 31: The meeting of the House of Representatives is being held today at Parliament House, New Baneshwar. The meeting has been called for 1PM.

In today's meeting, Finance Minister Barshman Pun will present a proposal seeking permission to introduce the 'Banks and Financial Institutions (First Amendment) Bill, 2080' and he will present the 'Banks and Financial Institutions (First Amendment) Bill, 2080'. Similarly, there is also an agenda that Minister Pun will propose to send the Customs Bill, 2080 to the relevant committee for discussion.

Prior to these discussions, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will read out the details of the letter from the office of the President. Likewise, Speaker Ghimire will also read out the letters received from the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.

After that, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet has an agenda to present a proposal that 'a general discussion should be held on the agreement related to the establishment of the International Solar Alliance (ISA)’, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

However, there is uncertainty surrounding today's parliamentary session due to ongoing disruptions by the opposition Nepali Congress (NC). The NC has been obstructing parliamentary proceedings since the formation of the new coalition government, demanding an investigation into Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane's involvement in cooperative affairs.
