President dissolves HoR, elections on March 5, 2026

The President has also announced that fresh elections to the HoR will be held on March 5, 2026.

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: On the recommendation of newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki, President Ram Chandra Paudel dissolved the House of Representatives (HoR) effective from 11 PM Friday midnight.



The President has also announced that fresh elections to the HoR will be held on March 5, 2026.

Issuing a statement late Friday night, the Office of the President made the decision public.


The statement signed by Under Secretary Rupesh Jung Thapa Magar reads, “Honorable President Ram Chandra Paudel, on the recommendation of Honorable Prime Minister Sushila Karki, has dissolved the current House of Representatives effective from 11:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2025.”
