KATHMANDU, May 4: Honda Bros NXR 150 has arrived. Syakar Company - the authorized distributor of Honda vehicles for Nepal - launched the bike in the domestic market on Wednesday. The bike, which is priced Rs 525,000, is suitable for both on and off road use, according to the company.

The bike is lightweight but powerful with 145.2 cc engine. It has electric starter and smooth five-speed transmission system. [break]

“It has a good ground clearance of 244 mm to take on the toughest dirt roads and feels equally at home on the paved roads and can maneuver effortlessly around the crowded streets,” said Saurav Jyoti, managing director of Jyoti Group - the parent group of Syakar Company.

Bros NXR has seat height of 825mm, which is also considerable lower compared to other off road bikes. It offers good posture and control whether it be standing still or riding. The bike offers mileage of 35 km per liter in Nepali road conditions, according to the company.

“Dirt bikes from Honda have always been popular in Nepal. We´ve introduced Bros NXR made in Brazil because bringing the bike from Japan itself would have been expensive,” Jyoti said.

Bros NXR is manufactured by Honda Brazil. It is available in black and red combination, red and silver combination and orange and silver combination. The bike is available at Honda Wing World Showroom in Teku and selected Honda showrooms across the country.

“We are supplying the bike to only the selected showrooms because not all cities here have customers ready to pay half a million rupees for a bike,” Jyoti said.

The bike comes with one-year warranty and back-up service.

Syakar is expecting to sell about 300 units of Bros NXR this year.

“We have realized that there are people, who prefer off-road bikes and ready to pay a bit more than the average price,” Jyoti said, adding “With the quality dirt bike we are offering, we are confident of achieving the target.”
