KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Amid complaints of unnecessary hassles from service seekers, the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken the initiative to ease the distribution of passports and national identity cards.

Spokesperson at the Home Ministry, Phanindra Mani Pokhrel, said that efforts are being made to address the complaints of service seekers that they are forced to stay in queue for hours and subjected to unnecessary hassles in filling forms. He said that they will also seek suggestions from a team of information technology experts to address the concerns of service seekers.

Pokhrel also said that all their future initiatives would be based on the suggestions by the experts.

Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane had earlier vowed to ease the distribution of passports and National ID cards immediately after assuming the office. Although the electronic form is filled to obtain passports, service seekers need to stand in queue for hours to complete the process.
