KATHMANDU, May 18: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has recommended the names of four Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Nepal Police.
A Promotion Committee meeting held on Friday decided to recommend SSPs Krishna Hari Sharma Pokharel, Dan Bahadur Karki, Dr Manoj Kumar KC and Rajan Adhikari for the promotion.
Pokharel is currently serving at Tribhuvan International Airport, while Karki, KC, and Adhikari are stationed at the Police Headquarters.
Karki, during his tenure as head of the District Police Range in Kathmandu, and KC, while at the Valley Crime Investigation Office, were involved in uncovering the fake Bhutanese refugee case. However, under pressure from Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, they were relieved of their responsibilities.
The fourth officer on the promotion list, Rajan Adhikari, is also recognized as an honest and professional officer in the police force.
