Before the election, Gurung had promised to establish a laboratory in the ward. During the interaction, locals complained that the promised programme had not been included in the budget and questioned him about the allocation.

Responding to their concerns, Gurung said the government had only recently introduced its first budget and that it had sought lists of local priorities to determine which programmes should be included.

He also pointed out that the proposed laboratory was a ward-level responsibility and said he had instructed officials to include it in the ward’s plans.

Gurung said he could not bring about a complete transformation within four months, adding that voters could take back the votes they had given him if they expected such rapid change.
