KATHMANDU, Aug 1: Minister for Home Affairs Sudan Gurung has said the government has reached an eight-point agreement with the family of Ganesh Yadav, who was shot dead during a protest in Golbazar, Siraha.
Speaking after a District Security Committee meeting in Lahan, Gurung visited Yadav's residence in Tulsiyahi of Aurahi Rural Municipality on Friday night, where he held talks with the deceased's parents and other family members.

According to the home minister, the agreement addresses the family's key demands, including an impartial investigation into the incident, legal action against those responsible, compensation, and free education for the victim's family members.
He added that the government has also agreed to provide free medical treatment to Yadav's parents and ensure employment for one member of the bereaved family.
Gurung pledged that there would be no shortcomings in the investigation into the Golbazar shooting and assured that those found responsible would be brought to justice.
Ganesh Yadav was shot dead on July 30 while participating in a protest in Golbazar against the Dewanganj incident in Sunsari.
