KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed all agencies to remain on high alert as heavy rainfall is forecast in certain areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
He has directed the heads of security agencies, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), chief district officers, all security mechanisms in the provinces, and local authorities to remain vigilant, as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some parts of the country today and tomorrow.
Security agencies on the alert for possible clashes
Home Minister Lekhak has also urged the general public to exercise caution to avoid potential risks, as the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has projected heavy rainfall in certain areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
“I have directed the chief district officers and the heads of security agencies in the provinces and districts of Koshi and Bagmati to remain alert, as rainfall has been forecast,” he said.
Home Minister Lekhak stated that he has instructed the heads of security agencies and the disaster authority to remain prepared for further coordination and necessary actions related to this matter at the home ministry.
Minister Lekhak urged everyone to exercise caution while traveling, as many highways in the country remain blocked due to previous floods and landslides, and the risk of landslides still persists.
