KATHMANDU, April 21: A meeting of High Level Political Mechanism (HLPM) which was held at the Parliamentary Party Office of the main opposition party Unified CPN (Maoist) ended inconclusively on Wednesday as the leaders failed to strike a deal.

"We will try our best to strike a deal in our next HLPM meeting," Narayan Kaji Shrestha, vice chairman of Unified CPN (Maoist) informed.[break]

Shrestha also said that the next meeting has been scheduled at 8 am on Saturday.

"We will hold talks throughout the day, if needed, in our next meeting to reach to a consensus," Shrestha added.

Meanwhile, no discussion was held on the issue of term extension of the CA on the Wednesday´s meeting.

The Maoists asked for a package deal to find a way out of the current political deadlock while the ruling parties--Nepali Congress and UML expressed their deep concern over recent Maoists´ move to train the people in various parts of the country saying that they were preparing for ´last battle´.

Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has been making massive preparations for what they call urban-centric uprisings across the country, and has asked its cadres to be ready for a ´final battle´.
