Pradhan was minister from 2017 to 2023 BS. during Panchyat regime. He was one of the freedom fighters of the democratic movement in 2007 BS.
He authored of Bal Gyan, a book in Newari language, in 2003 B.S. He had been active in the field of Nepali literature for around six decades. He had published around three dozens of books.
Late Pradhan received various prizes, including Dharmodaya Dhmya Award (2056) BS, Dharma Bahadur Welfare Fund (2056), Kedarnath Smirti Award (2058) and National Creative Award (2062). He was also a Buddhist philosopher.
