KATHMANDU, May 14: Historian and scholar Gyanmani Nepal passed away at the age of 92 on Tuesday afternoon.
He had been battling heart disease for a long time and was undergoing treatment at the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center in the capital.

Admitted to the Civil Service Hospital last Friday, he was later transferred to Gangalal Hospital and then to the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center in Maharajgunj. His brother Ekmani Nepal said that his health did not improve.
Gyanmani Nepal is renowned for his in-depth study of ancient and medieval Nepali history. He is survived by his two sons.
