KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Himalaya Airlines, an international carrier, is gearing up to extend its flight network into China, with the launch of regular flights to Qingdao starting this Sunday.
Qingdao, known for its scenic beauty, holds immense tourist appeal in China. The airline aims to bolster tourism ties between the two countries with this new route. A company representative expressed their intentions, stating, "Currently, there are no direct flights from Qingdao to Kathmandu. This flight is designed to cater to Chinese tourists."

Initially, Himalaya Airlines plans to operate one weekly flight, with plans to increase the flight frequency starting next month. This new addition to their route network complements their existing flights to various Chinese cities, including Beijing, Chongqing, Changsha, Nanning, and Goyang.
Himalaya Airlines made its debut in the Chinese market with its first scheduled flight to Beijing in October 2019, swiftly followed by regular flights to Chongqing within three months.
In addition to scheduled services, the airline has been actively conducting chartered flights to 10 different destinations in China for the past four years, further strengthening their presence in the region. Currently boasting a fleet of four aircraft, Himalaya Airlines has successfully operated routes to various international destinations, including Dubai, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and more, serving passengers from diverse regions.
