SAPTARI, May 21: The slain former Constituent Assembly member Sadrul Miyan Haq´s grief-stricken family and relatives and irate locals have forced the closure of the East-West Highway in Saptari, demanding the government´s pledge for inquiry into the murder.
They have insisted that their protest will not stop unless the home minister visits the crime site and promises action against Haq´s killers.Madhesi People´s Right Forum-Republican leader GP Gupta has described the killing as an act of timidity and said the incident exposes vulnerability of the general people to such attacks in deteriorating law and order situation in the country. The former CA member found dead with his throat slit on Tuesday morning.Haque, 50, of Bishanpur, Kalyanpur VDC of the district was found dead in a room of the Huma Oil Traders petrol pump owned by him. [break]
Haque, who had come there to sleep last night, was found dead by his family members and the staff, as he did not return home till late this morning. Haque was elected a representative to the erstwhile CA as an independent candidate from the Constituency No. 5 of the district.The district police office suspects that Haque was killed due to political and business enmity.
