KATHMANDU, March 16: Four major parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)—formed a high level political committee with chiefs and one representative each from the parties.
The committee will be headed by the chief of the each party on rotational basis for one month each, CPN UML leader Bamdev Gautam said after the meeting of the parties at New Baneshwor on Saturday. [break]
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will head the committee followed by NC, CPN-UML and UDMF chiefs respectively.
Gautam also said that each decision taken by the parties will be based on consensus.
The meeting also decided to request the government to set up committee’s secretariat at BICC building, New Baneshwor.
