KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Himalayan Happy Children Academy (HHCA) and Samakhusi English Boarding (SEB) School have lifted the senior and junior boys' titles of the Fifth Nerik Cup Inter-school Basketball Tournament in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
In the senior boys' final match played at Nerik's court, HHCA defeated Mount Kailash School 36-25 riding on highest 16 points of Bishal Rai.
Mount Kailash's Bishal was declared the most-valuable-player of the tournament in the senior section.
Similarly, SEB overcame Greenland International Higher Secondary School 21-16. Rabi Sharma contributed highest 12 points for the winning side. Samakhusi's Rabi was declared the-most-valuable-player at junior section.
Both winning teams in senior and junior category were rewarded with Rs 10,000 each while the runner-ups were given Rs 5000 each along with trophies. The most-valuable-player in either sections were given trophies and Rs 1000 each.
The tournament held in the league cum knockout format featured 12 teams each senior and junior section.
