PANCHTHAR, Nov 28: With the completion of Hewa Khola 'A' Hydropower Project in Panchthar, testing of electricity transmission is underway.
"A dry test has been completed while filling the reservoir is underway," said Pushpa Jyoti Dhungana, chief of the Panchthar Power Company.
The project already notified that production and electricity transmission tests would take place between November 25 and December 15.
The project has also urged local people to remain alert as the flows of water in Hewa River would keep changing during the test.
"A total of 9 to 10 megawatt electricity will be added to the national grid within a week as the project has reached its final stage," Dhungana said.
Although the initial estimated cost of the project, invested by various 11 banks led by Sanima Bank, was Rs 2.16 billion, the project cost more than the required amount due to failure to complete it in time, Dhungana said. RSS
