As the main event, half marathon of 21.1 km for men and women has been given continuity in this edition as well. The top six runners will be awarded with cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.[break]
The other events include 5-km corporate and media race, 3-km wheelchair race for the differently abled and 3-km walkathon. The corporate and media race has been included for the first time. The top three finishers of the race in both men´s and women´s sections will be awarded Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. Only runners belonging to corporate and media sector will be eligible to compete in the race.
Meanwhile, winners of the wheelchair race in both men´s and women´s categories will be awarded Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
According to Mahesh Swar, the chief marketing officer of Kantipur Publications, the organizers have expected participation of about 2,000 runners this year, 500 more than the last edition. Sushil Narsingh Rana is the race director.
