Help Nepal clinches two wins to lead points table

KATHMANDU, April 14: Defending champion Help Nepal Sports Club continued its unbeaten run in the men's category of the ongoing RBB NVA National Women's and Men's Club League Volleyball as it recorded two wins on Friday.

KATHMANDU, April 14: Defending champion Help Nepal Sports Club continued its unbeaten run in the men's category of the ongoing RBB NVA National Women's and Men's Club League Volleyball as it recorded two wins on Friday.



To climb to the top of the league with 15 points, Help Nepal defeated Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Club in its first match before overcoming the challenge of Western Region in its second match of the day. 



In the first match played at Dasharath stadium's covered hall, Tripureshwor, Help Nepal defeated Jawalakhel in the straight sets of 25-18, 25-12, 25-19. Similarly in its other match, Help Nepal beat Western Region by 25-19, 25-17, 25-22. 



In other matches under the same category, two departmental sides Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club registered victories. Police defeated Manimukunda Volleyball Club of Butwal in the straight sets of 25-12, 25-16, 25-21, while Army edged past Jawalakhel by 25-12, 25-7, 25-13. 



With the victory over Butwal based outfit Police has climbed to the second position, while Army has remained in third position. Although both Police and Army have equal 13 points from five matches, Police remains in the second position on the basis of head to head.

Women's category

In the women's category of the same tournament, Armed Police Force (APF) continued to lead the points table. To register its consecutive fourth victory in the competition, APF defeated Western Tops Volleyball Team in the straight sets of 25-9, 25-13, 25-12.  APF is leading the points table with 12 points from four matches. 



Second-placed New Diamond Academy registered win of 25-21, 25-14, 25-10 over Army. After the win over departmental side, New Diamond has extended its points tally to nine from three matches.



In another match under the same category, Police defeated Jawalakhel with the score-line of 25-5, 25-7, 25-3. Third-placed Police now has six points from four matches.
