Health minister Giri leaves for Switzerland to participate in Global Summit on Patient Safety

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Minister for Health and Population Padam Giri on Tuesday night left for Switzerland to participate in the Fifth Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety.

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Minister for Health and Population Padam Giri on Tuesday night left for Switzerland to participate in the Fifth Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety.


The Summit scheduled to take place in Montreux, Switzerland, on February 23-24 will bring together ministers, high-level representatives and experts from all over the world.

With the slogan 'Less harm better care—from resolution to implementation, it is expected to have another milestone in the international attempts to continue promoting patient safety globally by identifying solutions, and discussing implementation including the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.


The Nepali delegation includes the minister, chief of the Policy and Planning Division under the ministry, Dr Krishna Prasad Paudel and the minister's chief private secretary Laxman Giri. Minister Giri is scheduled to return home on February 26.
