Acharya was admitted in the hospital after she had a heart attack on last Sunday.
From Monday her health started deteriorating following which she was put in a ventilator.
Acharya had appealed to the media not to make the news public till the time his son Trilok who was in America returns back.
After his son reached Kathmandu on Wednesday morning the news of her departure was made public.
She was a noted radio anchor and got married to Acharya in the year 2040.
