KATHMANDU, July 24: Bhagirathi Bhattarai Gyawali has been appointed as the independent woman director and Surendra Raj Regmi as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Global IME Bank.

A Board of Directors meeting has decided to appoint Gyawali as the director and Regmi as the CEO.

Gyawali, who holds a master's degree in public administration and economics from Tribhuvan University (TU), has been engaged in teaching and various associations for a long time.

The Board of Directors has appointed Regmi, the Senior Deputy Chief Executive, as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective from August 17, 2024.

Regmi, who has been serving in the banking sector for more than three decades, joined Global IME Bank in 2009 from the level of Deputy Manager.

Similarly, Regmi holds an MA in Economics from TU and an MBA from the University of Wales, the UK.
