Gurung, the 16-handicap amateur, scored a total of 42 points with 23 points on the front nine 19 points on the back nine to lift the title. Ang Norbu Sherpa finished in the second position with 37 points.[break]
Neeraj SJB Rana took home the best gross award for his 31 points as well as the most birdies award for a total of three birdies.
Els Schapendonk finished on top in the women"s category with 37 points, six points ahead of second placed Aditi Ghimire.
Similarly, Gopal Chitrakar won the title in the senior section on countback after he was tied on 33 points with runner-up CB Gurung. Singha Bahadur Basnet stood first in the super senior section with 32 points. Tashi Dong with 35 points and Prabhat Singh with 32 points secured the top two spots in the guest category. Dong also won the longest drive award while JB Shrestha won the closet-to-the-pin award. Krishna C Kayastha was named the best sportsperson.
Altogether 71 players, including six female golfers, had taken part in the two-day event organized by The Everest Hotel.
