KATHMANDU, July 28: The House of Representatives along with the Education and Health Committee have directed the authorities concerned to conduct the exams of grade 12 in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic by following the necessary health and safety guidelines.
Committee Chairperson Jayapuri Gharti said that the examinations should be conducted only in the presence of doctors, nurses and necessary medicines at the examination centers. “In order to protect the examinees from the pandemic, the exams should be conducted by implementing the safety guidelines,” Gharti said. “Infected students should be provided a separate classroom for their exams,” he added.
Grade XI exams to begin from June 15
The National Examination Board has decided to conduct examinations of grade 12 physically from August 15. As many as 400,000 students are set to appear for the upcoming exams of at least 10 subjects, which will be held at 4,334 examination centers across the country.
Committee member Giriraj Mani Pokharel has urged the government to boost the vaccination drive for teachers and students. He also suggested the exams procedures be changed as various schools had shown irregularities in sending the internal evaluation of the students during the SEE exams.
