KATHMANDU, July 5: The government has lifted the ban on the screening of Hindi movie Delhi Belly two days after the police seized the movie print from Gopikrishna Movies in Kathmandu, claiming that the movie was screened without removing "obscene words" as directed by the country´s Film Censor Board.

According to a statement issued by the District Administration Office (DAO) in Kathmandu, the Board has received a clarification from the Triple Movies and Suppliers, the official distributor of the movie for Nepal, that it had already removed the "obscene dialogues" from the movie as directed by the Board and that it would be ready to face legal action if found guilty of screening it without removing the "objectionable parts" in the future. On Sunday, the DAO issued an order to this effect following complaints by the Board that the distributor defied its direction to remove some of the "obscene dialogues". The movie produced by the Bollywood star Aamir Khan is full of expletives.
