Govt withdraws bill on Manamohan Memorial Academy

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: The government has decided to withdraw the bill on Manamohan Memorial Institute of Health Science.

A Cabinet meeting on Thursday took a decision to withdraw the bill on Manamohan Memorial Institute of Health Science, Minister for Health Gagan Thapa told Republica Online.

The Cabinet has decided to replace National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) with Manamohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences.

Similarly, the meeting also decided not to provide affiliations to colleges until the bill, which is sub judice in Parliament, is endorsed. It also decided to send the NAMS act to Parliament for endorsement.

Similarly, the Cabinet decided to appoint Professor Debraj Adhikari as the member secretary and Tirtharaj Khaniya, Ishwari Prasad Dhakal as members of University Grants Commission with, said Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Karki, who is also the government spokesperson.

Similarly, the Cabinet inducted Punya Prasad Regmi as an advisor to the Ministry of Finance.
