Govt will patronize Manav Sewa Ashram: PM Dahal

HETAUDA, Dec 15: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal pledged to provide patronage to the Manav Sewa Ashram.

Inaugurating the newly-constructed building by the Ashram at Lamesuredhap in Hetauda today, PM Dahal said that the undertaking of the Ashram had prodded the government.

The building was constructed at the cost of over Rs 130 million. The Ashram has so far rescued 9,079 stranded people from the street. Among them, 204 people including 18 children are being sheltered at the Ashram.

Stating that the process to construct Ashram's buildings in all provinces and rescue street people had been forwarded, PM Dahal shared that the government would provide seven vehicles and Rs 10,000 per rescued person in the Ashram.

He stated that he marked his presence in the Ashram's endeavors since the Ashram was working for the charitable cause of promoting humanity.

On the occasion, Bagmati Province's Chief Minister Shalikram Jammakattel informed that the provincial government had allocated a budget for the Ashram.

Similarly, Provincial Minister for Social Development, Kumari Moktan, said that the provincial government aimed to make the Bagmati Province free of street people through the Ashram with participation of the State.

Stating that the issue relating to citizenship cards of the children born at Ashram is a complex one, she urged the federal government to extend support to resolve this issue. 

Likewise, Bagmati Province Assembly member and Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Chapter President Indra Bahadur Baniya opined that a humanitarian message would be disseminated from Hetauda through Ashram. He called for collective efforts to free the province from street people.

Deputy Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City Rajesh Baniya said that the Ashram had been promoting humanity and was embodying the identity of Hetauda. He also pledged continuous support to the Ashram.
