KATHMANDU, July 6: The Ministry of Irrigation has a formed a committee to probe defects in the main canal of Sikta Irrigation Project.
The government formed the panel after a sidewall of the main canal caved in during a trial run last week.
The committee is led by Sagar Kumar Rai, spokesperson of the Ministry of Irrigation. Chief Divisional Engineer Ramesh Paudel and Deputy General Director Sushil Chandra Tiwari are the other members of the team.
Rai said they will visit the project site, identify the mistakes and provide needful suggestions to the government in their report.
