Govt to launch ‘upliftment program’ in 100 schools with Rs 2.5 million grant each

These schools will also be tasked with supporting academic improvement in other schools. Each school under the program will receive a grant of Rs 2.5 million.

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has announced it will implement an "Upliftment Program" in 100 schools to modernize education.



Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel made the announcement while presenting the budget for upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/25 in Parliament on Thursday.

“At least one school in each district will be included, and the program will be based on academic performance,” he said.


These schools will also be tasked with supporting academic improvement in other schools. Each school under the program will receive a grant of Rs 2.5 million.
