While citing that the government will not tolerate illegal activities, may that be tax evasion or money laundering, Dr Bhattarai said, "We will soon make arrangements of physical infrastructure, human resources and necessary capacity building trainings to control the crime of money laundering."
Dr Bhattarai said this at a program on anti-money laundering organized by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Friday. At present, Revenue Investigation Department (RID) is carrying out the function of MLID.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister Dr Bhattarai further said that the government will also take steps to strengthen Financial Information Unit (FIU) of NRB, which is keeping track of flow of money in the financial system.
