KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has announced to carry out a feasibility study for cannabis farming for medicinal uses in Nepal.


This was announced in the budget statement read out by Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat at a joint session of the Federal Parliament in the capital on Monday. Dr Mahat made the announcement while presenting the annual budget for the Fiscal Year 2023/24.

On the occasion, Minister Dr Mahat said that funds have been allocated to carry out a feasibility study of cannabis farming for medical purposes in the new budget.
