At a discussion programme organized by the Education Journalists´ Group in the capital on Wednesday, he said however the nationwide banda (general shutdown) called by the Organization against DAV School for Thursday was called off citing the fast approaching SLC exam and the examinees´ psychology.
On the occasion, Director at Department of Education Tek Narayan Pandey urged all concerned not to call strike, and agitations that would hamper the coming SLC exam.
According to him, more than a dozen schools were running in Nepal as per the CBSE course without permission, so the Education Ministry was bringing a policy to regulate such educational institutions.
Similarly, Undersecretary at the Education Ministry Dr Nakul Baniya admitted that although the government had introduced a directive on school as zone of peace, the implementation of it was very weak.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Private and Boarding School´s Association-Nepal, Geeta Rana said the discussion of the stakeholders urged the DAV school to restore the teachers it sacked because it flouted the existing rules while appointing and ousting the teachers.
