Govt threats violate peace pact: Maoists

KATHMANDU, April 29: UCPN-Maoist has drawn the government’s attention to threats from ministers of mobilizing Nepal Army during the Maoist demonstrations, saying that the threats have violated peace agreement and interim constitution on Thursday.



A meeting of the People’s Movement Mobilization Committee warned the government not to intervene in their right to hold peaceful demonstrations.



Maoist politburo member Barshaman Pun said the Maoists will interact with security agencies soon to find out the facts in the backdrop of some ministers threatening to mobilize the army to suppress the Maoist movement.



The meeting decided to make all efforts to make the May Day demonstrations peaceful.
