KATHMANDU, June 13: Member of Parliament (MP) Umashankar Argariya has demanded the government declare Nepal as a commissions-oriented country and not an agricultural one.
All seven constitutional commissions remain ineffective
Speaking at the parliament meeting on Monday, lawmaker Argariya said, “There are farmers but no fertilizers, students but no books, authorities but no decrease in corruption, citizens but no citizenship. I would like to propose from this parliament to declare Nepal as a commissions-focused rather than an agriculture-oriented country.”
It may be noted that many lawmakers have complained against the government’s failure to provide fertilizers on time to the farmers. Various lawmakers also raised similar topics regarding the delay in providing quality fertilizers and seeds to the country’s farmers despite multiple assurances from the government.
